Tiger Mania 2019 Shows the Community What Being a Tiger Means

On November 7, Barbourville High School launched into another fantastic year of Tiger Mania,
showcasing their athletic prowess and skill through a night of scrimmages and dancing.
A fun-filled maelstrom of tailgating, school spirit, and food kicked off the festivities,
with an array of booths constructed by each team adorning the gym and displaying memorable
uniforms, dazzling banners, and hilarious cutouts. The crowd enjoyed barbecue, delicious desserts,
and friendly competition in cornhole, all while excitedly awaiting to see whose booth would be crowned
the best decorated. In the end, the varsity girls' basketball team took the accolades home, and it was soon
time for the curtain to open and the show to start. Captivating the audience with beloved songs both new
and classic, from “Old Town Road” to “Old Time Rock and Roll,” Barbourville athletes and coaches alike
commanded the floor with a spectacle of dance moves that complimented the decades hailed within the
music. Heartfelt messages from loved ones punctuated the excitement and lent an air of melancholy to those
senior athletes about to tackle their last -- and hopefully best -- year of action; giveaways escalated the
enthusiasm; and finally, many teams hit the court for scrimmages played with heart that shed more than a
few rays of hope upon the coming season.

Good luck to all of our athletes in the 2019-2020 season, and to our seniors, may you carry your skill
and passion throughout the rest of your life.
